In Zone Enrolment
Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate

2027 enrolment application (in zone and out of zone) will open on Tuesday 2 June 9am and any applications submitted before this date will NOT be considered.   In Zone applications for the remainder of the 2026 academic year are still open.

Students who live within the Westlake Boys High School zone are entitled to enrol, in accordance with Ministry of Education’s guideline.

 Important Information

  • Students must be living in-zone with their parent(s) or legal guardian(s) at the time of application.

  • The address must be the student’s main place of residence. The Board expects students to remain resident in zone for the duration of their enrolment with the Westlake Boys High School.

  • Temporary living arrangements (e.g. homestays, friends, or relatives) are not accepted.

  • Submitting an application does not guarantee enrolment—this is only confirmed once the student begins attending.

 Required documents include:

  • A copy of the student’s full birth certificate (showing parents’ names)

  • For New Zealand or Australian citizens:
A copy of a New Zealand or Australian passport (photo page), or
                A New Zealand citizenship certificate

  •  Proof of address: a copy of your latest electricity and internet bills (all pages) clearly showing parent(s) names and home address. IF your power and internet services are with the same provider, we require an additional proof of address. This could be a letter from your bank, an insurance document, or an official letter (IRD) showing your residential address.

 If You Are Renting

Please provide:

  • A copy of your Tenancy Agreement. Tenancy agreements must be in the name of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s), and held with a property agent or property owner. It must be a fixed-term agreement for at least one year covering the student’s first year at school. Flatshare, boarding or subletting agreements are not accepted

If you recently moved into the zone from an out-of-zone address:

  • Written proof of what happened to the previous address (for example, sale agreement or Tenancy Agreement if rented), including a copy of the final electricity bill/reading

Step 2: Submit Your Application

Once you have prepared all of the required documentation, complete the online enrolment form and upload all the documents. Mobile phone photos can often be too large to upload, so you may need to reduce the file size using an online compression tool before attaching them. Uploading documents as PDFs is usually the most effective option. Please name the file to indicate the content.

Step 3: Application Review

  • The school may request further documentation where necessary. The Enrolment Office will contact you if required.

  • Residence verification checks may be conducted.

It is compulsory to attend the 15-minute enrolment interview, accompanied by a parent or caregiver, for the application to be considered complete. This meeting provides an opportunity to learn more about the school, ask questions, and explore what Westlake Boys High School offers.

Step 4: Confirmation

Enrolment is confirmed once:

  • All documentation is accepted

  • Letter of Offer (this letter will be sent after the ballot); and Stage 2 enrolment have been completed

  • The student starts school and is marked present on the roll
