Welcome to Westlake Boys High School. 

This is a school where boys are the focus, their needs are met and their successes celebrated. Westlake Boys High School understands the value of a schooling experience which emphasises breadth, where boys are encouraged to be as involved as possible both inside and outside of the classroom.

Students at Westlake Boys High School will be presented with learning opportunities which are both exciting and challenging. Our curriculum is such that all learners will have the opportunity to experience success and involve themselves in learning which relates to their interests and future. 

Whether it is to continue with further education at university or to enter the workforce, our aim is for all learners to leave our school with the highest possible qualification. Many of our students go on to top universities in New Zealand and around the world, and for the past 10 years many of the top scholars in New Zealand have been students of Westlake Boys High School.  

Academic endeavours are supplemented by a wide range of experiences outside of the classroom. Like our academic success, Westlake Boys High School has a track record of achievement in sport, music and the performing arts, frequently gaining regional, national and international honours. The cocurricular programmes on offer are broad, available to all, and the students are encouraged to be involved. Our staff are incredibly committed, and it is their passion, expertise and enterprise which create these opportunities and make our school an exciting and supportive place to be.
