Year 9
Out of zone places are available to students who live outside our school zone. Each year, the Board of Trustees decides how many out of zone students we can admit through a ballot after receiving in-zone applications. We also reserve spots for students who move into our school zone after the ballot and throughout the following academic year.
Applicants are offered places based on their priority group and their numerical position on the enrolment list generated by the ballot. Applicants not offered places, are automatically placed on the waitlist in the order generated by the ballot.
Priority groups are prescribed by legislation and set out in our Enrolment Scheme
2026 Out of zone applications will be accepted from 03 June – 15 August. During this time, please submit an online application with your supporting documentation. A full list of documents required can be found here.
Students entering Year 9 can apply for a place in the Te Whanau Rumaki o Te Puna Maori Immersion Class. Whanau with a strong passion for te Reo me ngā tikanga are encouraged to apply.
Year 9 Interview
All students applying must attend an interview for their application to be considered complete. A staff member will meet with the student and their parent or caregiver for approximately 15 minutes. The interview provides an opportunity to learn more about our school and ask any questions before the ballot process takes place.
Academy of Sport (AOS)
Information about our AOS and how to apply will be sent to successful enrolment applicants once enrolment is confirmed after the Ballot.
School Donation
The 2025 school donation is $675 for one boy and $900 for two or more boys.
Year 10 – 13
For out-of-zone students wishing to join our school in Years 10-13, we decide in October whether we have the capacity to accept additional students in these year groups. This decision is based on the projected size of the incoming year group, the overall school population, and the availability of spaces in course subjects.
Students wishing to join Year 10 or 11 can apply for a place in the Te Whanau Rumaki o Te Puna Maori Immersion Class. Whanau with a strong passion for te Reo me ngā tikanga are encouraged to apply.
